Where Turkish Fans Are Gathering
Vancouver does not have a "Little Türkiye" district like London or Berlin, but there are key gathering spots for Turkish fans:
Anatolia's Gate (Davie Street, downtown) — 12-min walk from BC Place The most well-known Turkish restaurant downtown. Authentic kebabs, lahmacun, baklava. Will be a natural pre-match gathering spot.
Cazba Restaurant (West Vancouver) — 25 min by transit Larger Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant. Good for groups. Worth the trip on a non-match day.
Granville Street Pedestrian Zone — 5 min walk from BC Place Five blocks of Granville closed to traffic for the entire tournament. Live music, big screens, food stalls. Bring a Turkish flag and you will find your people.
For non-Turkish dining within walking distance: see our restaurants near BC Place guide.

Practical Information
Currency: Canadian Dollar. Roughly 1 CAD = 30 TRY (check current rates — exchange rates have been volatile).
Language: English. There is a small Turkish-speaking community in Vancouver but do not expect to get by in Turkish.
Tipping: 15-20% at restaurants. This is not optional. Servers depend on tips in Canada.
Weather: June in Vancouver is 18-22°C during the day, dropping to 12-15°C in the evening. Bring a light jacket for the 9 PM kickoff.
Power: Canada uses Type A/B plugs (flat prongs, US-style). Turkish plugs (Type C/F) will NOT work. Bring an adapter.
Phone: Roaming from Turkcell, Vodafone TR, or Türk Telekom is expensive in Canada. Cleanest option: install a Canadian eSIM from Airalo before you fly — activates on YVR Wi-Fi, no kiosk lines, no SIM swap.
Transit: SkyTrain is excellent. Compass Card, load $20-30. BC Place is at Stadium-Chinatown Station. See our transit guide and YVR airport to BC Place guide.
Visa & Entry
Turkish citizens need an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to enter Canada by air. Apply at canada.ca/eta. It costs $7 CAD and is usually approved within minutes. Apply at least 72 hours before your flight.
If you have a US visa or have visited Canada in the last 10 years, you may qualify for a faster process. Always apply through the official canada.ca site — there are scammers charging hundreds of dollars to do what costs $7.
